On religious festivals it is well worth keeping an eye on the local church in Arroyo, where you will normally be able to catch one of the processions of icons, statues etc as they are paraded around the town. Most of these take place in early evening.

Easter and Whitsun are variable. Those of you here at Easter should definitely join the throng on the streets to watch the statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus, as they wind heir way through the side streets.

Veladilla del Carmen (16th July) is a local festival. The Patron Saint of fishermen is paraded and then lifted into a boat and is rowed out to sea. A spectacular candlelit event centered at the Marina.
